Dork Rock 02:52
Sunday in the Midlands, 1993 A shedding of a skin that was enveloping me Time to get the weight off and time not to be Still reeling in the fallout from Alien 3 I based myself on sleevenotes, I dressed from magazines I did so many sit-ups I destroyed my knees I said my name was 'Alex' and I'm eager to please I want to be the city but I come from the trees Sitting in the desert, I started to see That nothing really touches me like Alien 3 I'm giving up believing in the glorious me I'm crashing on my parade in an E.E.V. I wandered down the country, precariously I found myself all on my own in Golders Green And all of my poses could not help me So I gave myself back over to Alien 3 Sitting in the desert, I started to see That nothing really touches me like Alien 3 I'm giving up believing in the glorious me I'm crashing on my parade in an E.E.V. O.K. Dress Code: White British Knight Hi-Tops Blue skinny jeans A grey hat And a black logo T-shirt of GHOSTBUSTERS II Sitting in the desert, I started to see That nothing really touches me like Alien 3 I'm giving up believing in the glorious me I'm crashing on my parade in an E.E.V. All these moments will be lost in time like an idiot in a room with one door Nexus 6! Nexus 7! Nexus 8! Nexus 9! Nexus 10! Go! I want to be Ripley! I want to be John McClane! I want to be Snoopy! I want to be Holtzmann, Jillian Holtzmann.

Rejoinder 04:54
I lie upon my bed And let you fill my head You're course-correcting me You are my energy Oh woah You turn me upside-down You spin my world around Whenever you're around I hear that lonely sound Oh woah You wreck me Connect me I want to go where you go Reject me Collect me I want to know what you know Oh oh oh There you go Oh oh oh This is my final word On all that I have heard You sing me through the night You make it all alright Oh woah You wreck me Connect me I want to go where you go Reject me Collect me I want to know what you know Oh oh oh There you go Oh oh oh What do you want from me, from me? Who do you want me to be, to be? How can I make you see, you see? You are the end of me, of me You wreck me Connect me I want to go where you go Reject me Collect me I want to know what you know Oh oh oh There you go Oh oh oh You wreck me Connect me I want to go where you go Reject me Collect me I want to know what you know Oh oh oh There you go Oh oh oh What d'you know? Oh oh oh

Three twenty-somethings - one boy, two girls - meeting at old derelict pub in middle of city (opening is long zoom from space to pub). Former beer garden and car park is sand. Boy there first on phone. Overgrown on sand. High street. First floor is pretty. Shack has someone in. Weird flat head dog/sheep - little kid with biro head. Curiosity gets the best of them. They go in. It's nice. They chill. Pop out. Go back. SCARY. They leave. Boy forgot bag. Girl dropped keys with his address. He goes back. No shock reveals, but there is a scream. It continues. City sun, like Duel, but on foot.

Respite 03:01
Black well, drown hole, water Fish eye, footway, down Rain grass, sat well, sort of Dog weir, that way, town The wind across the grass runs The river to the end And everything will be the same tomorrow Slate grey, nine planes, over Lights first, then sound, gone Five lanes, hollow, no more Church bells, train pass, done The wind across the grass runs The river to the end And everything will be the same tomorrow

By the back wall Above the skirting Where the curtain Bleeds the sun A reminder Of the battle We couldn't lose But we never won Now there's nothing But this marking And confusion What have we done? You don't remember I don't believe you Another loss then We've never won Every time I go away Animals just block my way And as the curtain calls I'm climbing up the walls I'm rating animals And as the curtain falls I'm clawing at the walls I'm rating animals by style Is this all then? Apartment broken With a promise But never fun Lit by computer I cannot help her But I get the Dishes done There was a kid who Tried to tell me That the city Would get it done But he got older And the light dimmed And all his watches Have ceased to run Every time I go away Animals just block the way And as the curtain calls I'm climbing up the walls I'm rating animals And as the curtain falls I'm clawing at the walls I'm rating animals And as the curtain calls I'm climbing up the walls I'm rating animals And as the curtain falls I'm clawing at the walls I'm rating animals by style And in the end I (Oh are you leaving?) Made it past them (Then take the ceiling) Scrubbed the skirting (Or take the window) And now I'm gone (Go on, run) Lock the windows (Cos I'm still breathing) Pull the latches (I'm still seeing) Let the air out (Animals here) Panic done (You're never done)

about

Written & recorded in seven days between 27/02/2017 & 06/03/2017. It was meant to be released on the seventh day but life got in the way.

This is an album of true stories about fields, shirts, wasps and how much I love The Bangles and the 2016 Ghostbusters film, amongst other things. I owe it all to science.
